Cork Hurling Team
All Ireland Hurling Champiions
September 2005

Cork senior hurlers won the All Ireland Final by beating Galway in Croke Park.

On the Friday before the Final the school had a red day. The Cork colours are red and white so everyone was encouraged to wear something red.

Classes made banners and hats and all sorts of decorations for Red Day. Cork is also known as 'De Rebel County'.

The whole school assembled in the Halla on Friday afternoon and prizes were drawn for all classes. They included hurleys, sliotars, helmets and Cork jerseys.

Everyone had a great day.

Cork beat Galway and we waited for the team to visit the school with the Liam McCarthy Cup. Mr. Whooley introduces two of the Cork players.

The Halla was filled with excitement. Two of the team, Ronan Curran and Tom Kenny arrived with 'Liam'. Ronan plays for the local team, The Barrs while Tom plays for Grenagh. They gave everyone homework off.
