Mr. Noel Barrett was MC for the night and the first half acts were;
1. Band of Scoil Mhuire na nGrás, conducted Annette Walsh.
2. Barrack Street Junior Band, conducted Billy O’Callaghan.
3. Wizard of Oz - performed by pupils from Infants to 3rd Classes produced by Declan Wolfe.
4, A History of Greenmount School, written, produced and directed by Declan Wolfe and
performed by the children from 3rd. to 6th. Classes.

The Barrack Street Band was founded by Fr. Mathew in 1837 and has very close connections with Greenmount School. Many of its members are past pupils and the band uses the school facilities on a regular basis.
Currently, under a 3 year scheme funded by the Bridging the Gap Project UCC, the Band and school provide a facility for each child in the Senior Classes to be introduced to playing a brass instrument if they desire. Many have availed of this opportunity and progressed to the Barrack Street Junior and Senior Bands |

3. City of Cork Male Voice Choir conducted by Frank Buckley.
4. Dyanamix by Michael Casey performed by the Barrack Street Band.
5. City of Cork Male Voice Choir and pupils of Scoil Mhuire na nGrás.

The City of Cork Male Voice Choir were founded in 1968 and many of its members have connections with
Greenmount School. One of Cork’s best loved Choirs, they recently visited New York were they participated in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

The Attridge Academy of Irish Dancing was established in 1958 by Nancy Attridge. Her daughter, Niamhmarie Murphy, began teaching Irish Dancing in Greenmount National School in 1994. Since then the boys and girls in the School from first class to 6th class have taken Irish Dancing Classes each week. Many of our past pupils have joined the Academy and they are performing here tonight. |
